Tyge Christensen, of the University of Copenhagen, was a renowned expert in chrysophytes other flagellates. Dr. Christensen also served the IPS as President. This Prize honors Dr. Christensen by recognizing the best paper published in Phycologia during each calendar year. The award comes with a cash prize.
